At 10:54 Beijing Time on July 22, 2026, the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center conducted a sea launch mission off the eastern waters of Shanghai. The Gravity-1 Y4 carrier rocket blasted off, sending nine satellites into preset orbits, namely Dongpo 13-14, Dongpo 17-20, Xiguang No.2-01, Tianyi 49 and Lilac No.3. The flight test mission achieved full success. This marks the first open-sea launch mission of the Gravity-1 rocket, and also China’s first sea launch of a private commercial carrier rocket in the East China Sea off the Yangtze River Delta. Developed by Orienspace, Gravity-1 is the world’s most powerful solid-propellant carrier rocket.
